Get ready for a wild Victorian romp across America in The Great Elephant Chase, a thrilling adventure from award-winning author Gillian Cross.

When orphaned Tad Hawkins is dragged into the strange and shady world of a travelling show, he finds himself on the run with a runaway girl, a reluctant elephant, and a secret worth more than gold. As they flee from con men, gunmen, and the law itself, the unlikely trio must rely on wit, courage, and each other to survive a chase that spans rivers, railroads, and the wide open plains.

Full of heart, humour, and pachyderm-sized peril, this forgotten gem of children’s literature is a fast-paced tale for readers who love their historical fiction with a healthy dose of chaos.
